I've 2 good news, my Strawberry IceCream Cake is on Foodbuzz Top9! Cheers to my readers and fellow foodies =) Also, I'm now a featured cook on HalfHourMeals! I really like this food community for the same reason as why I enjoy posting at Onsugar (my food blog host). Their editors/staff'd always reach out to my posts and this interaction always gives me the sense of belonging for their websites! You might want to read the post on my interview here =)
Sorry for not updating for the past few days as I was busy following my dad around his work. In fact, I made Hello Dolly Bars on Sunday too. They were delicious, but really messy. Plus I know you won' be convinced just how delicious they are unless I make them again, and make them better than before =P
So what are Hello Dolly Bars? I only know that they are known as 7 layers bars or magic cookies bars, but I've no idea how did they came about. They are really meant for the genuine sweet tooth and seriously, I've never seen a can of condensed milk at home before I attempted Hello Dolly Bars! I love desserts, but I'm health conscious too (that's why I play sports) and condensed milk, in my opinion are way too unhealthy to be consumed. LOL. Wait, I might change my mind now though =P Of course, if you've means to get non-sweet chocolate chips, less sweet condensed milk and layer your bars with more nuts, the results might just be somewhat healthier :D (and they're kids-friendly!)

CUTE EH? My mum loves the coconut! And the topped walnuts tasted almost like caramel popcorn LOL yUmMy!~
I'd a little problem with the recipe I used on Sunday, the melted butter used for the graham crackers and the condensed milk was too much. That's why my Hello Dollies turned out very wet and I'd problems cutting them. I tried another recipe today (below!)
Oh don't say I didn't warn you. Don't bake it if you're on a diet. I'm SURE it is fattening. LOL. And for me, my prom night is less than month away! That's why I shouldn't be indulging on too much of these bars, and this brings you to another great reason why you should bake them! You can easily halve/quarter the recipe to your desired quantity =DD Recipes containing 1 egg and yet producing a large yield on the other hand makes dividing the yield difficult!
Here I have the step-by-step pictures to help you :) Wish I can do that everytime but it's difficult because I get pretty untidy when I bake and I can't be holding my camera with dirty hands =\

Combine the butter and graham crackers.

Press them on the base of the pan (I use a mini size loaf pan)

Layer it with chocolate chips, then coconut (fresh or dessicated is fine! I tried both ^o^) The recipe is flexible, you can add butterscotch chips too, but don't leave out the coconut, I think they tasted GREAT here!

WALNUTS. (pecans are fine, it's up to you!) My mum likes walnuts. Plus, pecans aren't that common in Singapore (not in M'sia too)

Drizzle with condensed milk! Yay, you're done! Place it into the oven and bake :)
Recipe taken from MyRecipes.com
Ingredients, makes 24 servings
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon water
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup butterscotch morsels
2/3 cup flaked sweetened coconut
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 (15-ounce) can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350 °
Line the bottom and sides of a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper; cut off excess parchment paper around top edge of pan.
Place crumbs in a medium bowl. Drizzle with butter and 1 tablespoon water; toss with a fork until moist. Gently pat mixture into an even layer in pan (do not press firmly). Sprinkle chips and morsels over crumb mixture.
Top evenly with coconut and pecans. Drizzle milk evenly over top. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly around edges. Cool completely on wire rack.

My delicious Hello Dollies to go :)
Love. (I'm still in M'sia btw)
hehehe

I swear to you right here and now, Dolly, that I could eat that whole pan.
I love your photos, you're really creative. Well done!
